SmartGreen reduces the far red part of the spectrum more than the near red. This more closely matches the light spectrum on a forest floor or under a woodland canopy. A forest canopy is not just darker but the canopy plants have absorbed much of the red spectrum and so plants that have evolved and adapted to grow in these conditions don’t do as well in full sun conditions. The green tint is merely because the filter we use turns it that colour. By mimicking the shade of a forest floor, it also makes it a cooler environment to work in. The new SmartGreen is also UV open so that plants grow more sturdily than under normal polythene films or under glass. We have also added the Anti Fog (AF) additive to reduce dripping and retain light clarity. SmartGreen is made using our SuperStrength technology to make the film stronger and more gale proof than ordinary UVI/EVA films.
